Sharon Mitchell

Sharon Mitchell, I.D.S

A childhood love of color and an instinct for artistic balance, led to a career in interior design for Sharon.  A certificate in Interior Design from La Salle College, as well as continuing education courses from La Salle College and Parson’s School of Design, founded a career of forty-five years and counting in this business; thirty-three of those years have been at her dream job with Russell’s Furniture.

Joining as an associate member of the Pittsburgh Chapter of the Interior Design Society in 1982, Sharon passed her professional exam in 1986.  She co-founded the Lake Erie Chapter of the Interior Designer Society a few years later, bringing together the Erie areas best designers.

During her career, Sharon has held seminars for the public in all aspects of design, including the extremely popular Christmas program at Russell’s.  Her work has been widely admired in numerous show houses, both residential and commercial.  Her commercial credits include nursing homes, senior citizen housing, condos, community halls, real estate, attorney and doctor’s offices.

After meeting a new client, Sharon gets to know them through an in-home visit, followed by a floor plan and color presentation.  Completing a room design includes wall color, window treatments and her personal favorite - accessories!  Sharon’s signature in design is her ability to create a comfortable living atmosphere with individuality for each client.
